Getting to Chamonix does not require you to rent a car. There are many coaches available from Geneva, Switzerland, which is just over 100 kilometres away. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours, so you have plenty of time to recharge en route to the destination. Advanced booking is required, and your passport must be presented prior to boarding. You may also choose to travel to by rail, but it is a slower commute, with several stops in between.
